He was previously Executive Vice President of CellNet Data Systems, a provider of wireless control technology for electrical utility distribution systems. Prior to this he was the President and CEO of Impell Corporation and a Group President at Combustion Engineering, Inc.

Education:
Ray earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (with distinction) from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. He also attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford University Business School. He is a registered Professional Engineer in mechanical engineering in California.
